Executive Office

The Executive Office is comprised of the Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Assistant. The office is responsible for administrative functions with and for the Board of Governors, Executive Committee and Delegate Assembly. This office deals with all ACA Committees, the Commission on Accreditation, international relations and work, Federal Government relations and presents and manages the budget of ACA. The Executive Director is hired by the Board of Governors and all ACA employees are hired by the Executive Director.

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the budget, receipt of all income and payments for all expenses. The finance office ensures ACA's outside audit is complete, all local, state and federal regulations/laws are in compliance and taxes and fees are paid.

Robert Green - Executive Director

Robert L. Green is the 8th Secretary and Executive Director of the American Correctional Association. He served six months as the ACA Executive Director Designee before being named Executive Director. He began his correctional career with the Frederick Sheriff's Office in 1985, ultimately achieving the rank of Major, Corrections Director. In 2000, he was selected for a senior position with the Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation, one of the 50 largest jail systems in the country, where he also served as the Director of that department. In 2019, Governor Larry J. Hogan selected him to become the 12th Secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services for the State of Maryland. He is a graduate of Shepherd University, West Virginia.

Ben Nalette, CPA - Chief Financial Officer

Ben Nalette is the Chief Financial Officer of the American Correctional Association, where he leads the Association's financial strategy, compliance and information technology. He has spent his entire career serving the nonprofit sector, bringing a wealth of expertise in nonprofit financial management, compliance and internal controls. A Certified Public Accountant with a career grounded in public accounting and financial advisory services, he has supported a wide range of organizations in strengthening internal controls, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring transparency in financial reporting.
